On the 9th May a team made up of staff from local law firm Fylde Law, completed the arduous 49th Keswick to Barrow walk.
The team, made up of Director Kevin Looby, Office Manager Cath Johnson and Trainee Solicitor James Scott, joined some 3,000 walkers in raising hundreds of thousands of pounds by covering the now established 40 mile route in what was a day of mixed weather.
Monies raised at this year's event will go to a wide range of charities and good causes including Cancer Research UK, Help for Heroes, Macmillan Cancer Support and North West Air Ambulance as well as other smaller local charities and groups.
The event which started in 1967 as a 3-way challenge between the crew of HMS Resolution, staff of Barrow Shipyard and staff at Vickers Shipyard, soon grew in popularity and became a sponsored walk open to all in 1969.
Fylde Law is no stranger to this type of event, having successfully carried out the now infamous Three Peaks Challenge back in November 2013. Kevin Looby comments "I'm incredibly proud of the efforts of everyone concerned, both in terms of the people who took part but also all those staff and family members who helped us in fund raising. Thank you all."
Should anyone wish to donate towards Fylde Law's sponsorship funs please contact Cath Johnson on 01253 730 070 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
The total raised will be announced on our website when all monies are collected later in the month.
